This Privacy Policy describes how PoochBud  ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, place an order, or contact us.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly. When you place an order or contact us, we collect:

  • Name, shipping address, billing address
  • Email address and phone number
  • Payment information, processed securely by our payment partners
  • Order history and customer service correspondence

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site, we automatically collect:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
  • Pages viewed, time on site, referring URLs
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5)

Information from third parties. We may receive information from advertising and analytics partners about how you interact with our ads on other sites.

2. How we use information

  • Process and fulfill your orders
  • Communicate about your orders, including shipping updates and customer service responses
  • Send marketing emails about new products or promotions, only if you opt in
  • Improve the site, our products, and your shopping experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax and consumer protection law

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share limited information with the following categories of service providers, only to the extent needed to operate our business:

  • Ecommerce platform: Shopify Inc., which hosts our store and processes orders
  • Payment processors: to authorize and capture payments and prevent fraud
  • Shipping carriers: to deliver your order
  • Email and SMS providers: to send order confirmations and, if you opt in, marketing messages
  • Analytics and advertising partners: including Google and Meta, to measure ad performance and improve targeting (you can opt out via Section 5)
  • Legal and safety: to comply with valid law enforcement requests, court orders, or to protect our rights

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Right to delete: request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Right to correct: request that we update inaccurate information
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information for money; we do share limited information with advertising partners and you can opt out at any time
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will not deny service or change pricing because you exercised a privacy right

To make a request, email support@poochbud.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We may ask you to verify your identity before completing the request.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:

  • Essential: required for the cart, checkout, and login to work. These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics: measure site traffic and how customers use the site, so we can improve it.
  • Marketing: measure ad performance and show relevant ads on other sites.

You can disable analytics and marketing cookies through your browser settings or via the cookie preferences link in our footer where available. You can also opt out of personalized advertising via the Digital Advertising Alliance and via your device's advertising controls.

6. Data retention

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order, provide customer support, and comply with US tax and consumer protection law (typically up to 7 years). We delete marketing contact records on request, subject to a brief retention window for legal and fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Children

PoochBud is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email support@poochbud.com and we will delete it.

8. Security

Payments are processed through PCI-DSS compliant providers. We use HTTPS across the site. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information protected and to notify you promptly in the unlikely event of a breach that affects you.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will notify customers by email or by a prominent notice on the site.
